The revitalisation and adaptive reuse of this historic space created an innovative workplace for J. Walter Thompson.
In a collaborative effort with design firm Geyer, JDV embarked on a transformative project that revitalised two floors within a historically significant wool store building. The result was an innovative and industrial workspace tailored for the advertising agency J. Walter Thompson. The design harmoniously blends the building's historical elements with contemporary aesthetics, creating a distinctive urban interior.
The project was made possible through partnerships with commercial project management firms Savills and East View Commercial. These collaborations were facilitated through separate Construction Management agreements, enabling the creation of a remarkable space. The project encompassed the creation of an interconnecting steel and timber staircase, along with a mezzanine connecting multiple levels. A new glass shaft lift was also installed, seamlessly linking the workspace on one level to an array of meeting spaces and breakout areas. This included a rooftop timber decked terrace, offering an exceptional environment for both staff and clients to gather, complete with sweeping panoramic views of the cityscape overlooking Darling Harbour.
