Kingsgrove Industrial Complex

JDV Projects successfully delivered a structural awning addition and site upgrades for a valued repeat client, overcoming challenges to ensure a compliant and functional outcome. The project included demolishing a single-story office building, removing four large trees, and creating two new roller door openings to improve warehouse access. Upgrades also involved a new concrete hardstand, extensions to existing driveways and crossovers, footpath upgrades, and landscaped garden beds.

A new driver’s amenity with bathroom facilities was constructed near the loading dock, and extensive hydraulic works were undertaken. This included a 70-metre stormwater pipe run, crossing multiple underground services, upgrading an existing stormwater pit, and constructing a new pit to support the awning’s drainage. JDV installed an Onsite Detention (OSD) tank platform above the 1-in-1000-year flood level and extended the sprinkler system for fire compliance. A roof walkway system was also added for safe maintenance access.

The team expertly managed asbestos removal, excavation around undocumented services, and construction within a live warehouse environment, ensuring uninterrupted daily operations. Key logistics, such as transporting structural steel under police escort, were carefully planned. JDV navigated stalled Development Application (DA) approvals, Section 4.55 modifications, and fire safety certifications to deliver the project efficiently, meeting their long-term client’s high standards and expectations.
